ZTE V3 metal smartphones outed in China
If you are looking to choose a moderately priced aluminum-clad smartphone from a Chinese OEM, ZTE might be one of the best answer these days. The telecoms giant unveiled three devices from its midrange V3 series on Thursday. All three smartphones — ZTE V3 Youth, ZTE V3 Energy and ZTE V3 Extreme — come with aluminum housing and feature fingerprint sensor for secure access and unlocking. The handsets share similar specs but differ on network grounds.
ZTE V3 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display while running Nubia 3.0 UI atop a modified Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware. The lineup sports a 13-megapixel rear shooter as well as a 5-megapixel front camera while there’s support for a dual SIM slot and microSD card port.
Under the hood, you’ll find a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC clubbed with 2GB of RAM and in built 16GB of storage.
As earlier mentioned, the value of these smartphones is separated by network connectivity. ZTE V3 Youth will set you back $160 (Chinese 999 yuan) while the V3 Energy goes for $210 (1299 yuan). Finally, the ZTE V3 Extreme, complete with LTE 4G and all the bonus features, is priced at $240 (1499 yuan).
